The BEAT Festival is the NT Department of Education's annual performing arts showcase. This large-scale combined schools production, led by the NT Music School with support from the BEAT Foundation, highlights the incredible work of our schools.
Since 1979, this eagerly anticipated event has dazzled audiences each September with three spectacular shows. Highlights include:
Held at the Darwin Entertainment Centre, the BEAT Festival offers a glimpse into the wealth of talent in public schools, showcasing the dedication, commitment, and creativity of the teachers who nurture this talent.
The Alice BEAT is part of The BEAT Festival, the major performing arts showcase for NT schools. This event features creative arts performances with a massed choir, rock bands, musical soloists, ukulele groups, dance troupes, and drummers.
Performances will include primary and secondary students from schools across the Alice Springs and Barkly regions. Join us at the Alice BEAT Festival 2024 for an unforgettable celebration of talent and creativity.

The Katherine BEAT Festival is the major annual Performing Arts showcase for NT Government Schools in the Katherine region. Featuring more than 150 participants comprising singers, dancers, hosts, and musicians of all ages from across the Big Rivers region of the NT. The BEAT Festival is a large scale combined-schools music production showcasing the great work of students and their teachers. The Katherine BEAT Festival is produced by NT Music School (Department of Education and Training) as part of a Territory-wide mission to support Arts education.
